Music in the Parks: Tjärnblom

Since 1892, Music in the Parks has provided residents and families opportunities to gather and enjoy local music throughout the summer. Since its inception thousands of free concerts have taken place. Concerts are weekly and vary from classic rock, hip hop, international, funk and many more genres of music.

This week at Minnehaha Falls we are hosting Tjärnblom. Tjärnblom is a Scandinavian Immigrant Tune band. Tjärnblom, Swedish for "woodland lake flower", is a Scandinavian-style string band featuring a beautiful blend of Nyckelharpa, Octave Mandolin, Harmonium and Cello. They travel a modern "Snoose Boulevard Highway" in their musical journey, playing a repertoire of both old and new Swedish, Finnish, Minnesotan and original tunes for dancing and for listening. They’ve performed across the Midwest, and have appeared on Minnesota Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion show. The concert will begin at 7pm.
