Music in the Parks: Lena & The Lovekills

Since 1892, Music in the Parks has provided residents and families opportunities to gather and enjoy local music throughout the summer. Since its inception thousands of free concerts have taken place. Concerts are weekly and vary from classic rock, hip hop, international, funk and many more genres of music.

This week at the Lake Harriet Bandshell we are hosting Lena and the Lovekills. They are a combination of rockabilly and swing, or as they like to say: swingabilly! Lena and the Lovekills play a mix of vintage and modern rockabilly and swinging rhythm and blues. You might hear also hear a honky-tonk country song, a 60s surf instrumental, or a classic pop hit that they’ve “rockabillified.” The group has performed at the Minnesota State Fair, Mall of America, and Viva Las Vegas (the world’s largest rockabilly festival!)
