A Celebration of Black Celestial Knowledge, Community, and 115 Years of Great Migration in the heart of Northside Minneapolis.

Mark your calendars and get ready for a vibrant day of culture, ritual, and collective renewal. On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the streets of Emerson & Broadway on the Northside of Minneapolis will come alive for “HI COTTON 🌍 NORF STAR: THE BLOCK PARTY,” a celebration commemorating 115 years of the Great Migration and honoring Black celestial knowledge. This day-long community event invites all generations to engage in a powerful space of joy, remembrance, and imagination

Directed by Namir “Blu Bone” Fearce. Presented by Juxtaposition Arts and the Minneapolis Arts & Cultural Affairs Department.

Event Highlights:

• Steppers Delight Battle - $500 Prize

• Sol Salvation Choir Performance

• Yoga and community healing spaces

• Food trucks and local Black-owned vendor market

• Activities for families, youth, and elders
• Live music and DJ sets from local Black artists
• Public art installations

“HI COTTON 🌍 NORF STAR” is more than a block party—it’s a Northside ritual of resistance and remembrance, rooted in legacy and looking toward the stars. Let’s gather to affirm our stories, our spirits, and our shared future.
