Before Chicago Avenue: A Celebration of Native Artists

Swing by Z Puppets on the corner of 41st Street & Chicago Ave. in Minneapolis for a free open house of family-friendly fun by local Native American artists!

Enjoy live music, performance and video screenings, hands-on puppet making and screen printing and showcases of visual art by Twin Cities' Indigenous artists, led by the artist team of Chris Griffith, Graci Horne, Juan Lucero, Julie Boada, and Jennings Mergenthal.

The event ends with a dedication of the Wado Gardens, a native plant rain garden with beautiful signs highlighting the importance of the plants to Dakota and Ojibwe culture.
