Unleash your inner artist at The Art of Being You Workshop at DC Gallery & Studio! Join emerging South Jersey visual artist Maryn Olson for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to creativity, self-expression, and embracing your unique individuality.

You'll kick things off by warming up your intuitive life drawing skills with guided timed exercises. Then, dive into oil pastel techniques, learning to layer and add texture as you create a vibrant, one-of-a-kind self-portrait to take home!

Perfect for all skill levels, this workshop offers a supportive and welcoming space to explore your creativity. We provide all art materials; just bring a digital or printed self-portrait reference image. Connect with fellow creatives, discover the beauty of being yourself, and leave feeling inspired! Info: Maryn Olson will briefly introduce herself/her artwork and share examples of her mixed media self-portraits. Maryn will then lead participants through a series of timed life drawing exercises to warm up.

Info: Maryn Olson will demonstrate pastel techniques for the class. Students will explore and experiment with mixed media techniques to layer & create texture with oil pastels. With instructor guidance, students will integrate new pastel techniques to create their own unique pastel self-portraits.
