12:30-2:00 Depart on our Thomas Point Lighthouse Chesapeake Bay Cruise, a National Historic Landmark and the last remaining screw-pile lighthouse in its original location on the Chesapeake Bay. It has been a navigational aid on the Bay since its construction in 1875. A true historic icon.
2:30-4:00 Enjoy a Combination Driving/Walking Colonial Tour of Annapolis with Historian Mark Croatti, the history professor at the Naval Academy of Annapolis. You’ll walk less than a mile on the charming streets and discover remarkable landmarks that shaped our nation.
Mark will begin our tour at the iconic State House, once the temporary capital of the United States, where notable decisions were made that would influence the course of history.
Next, wander to Mann’s Tavern, the significant site of the 1786 “pre-Constitutional Convention,” where influential figures gathered to discuss the governance of a fledgling nation.
As you continue, marvel at the Maryland Inn, where you’ll gain insight into the intriguing network of secret tunnels that lie concealed beneath the city, revealing a hidden layer of Annapolis's storied past.
Your adventure also includes a visit to the Westin Hotel, home to the “Hall of Presidents Before Washington” exhibit. Here, you can explore captivating artifacts from the years 1774 to 1789, providing a glimpse into an era of profound change and formation.
Finally, behold the beautiful Chase-Lloyd House, the former residence of Samuel Chase, a foundational participant in the pivotal 1785 Mount Vernon Compact that addressed the rights of the Chesapeake Bay.
