Midland based Birli Gallery is wrapping up a busy NAIDOC focused few months with an end of exhibition celebration featuring a host of talented First Nations artists. With works from both emerging and established creatives, there is something for everyone: from bold contemporary pieces to traditional storytelling through visual art.
The exhibition, which has drawn visitors from across the region, showcases the depth and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, highlighting the powerful role creativity plays in cultural resilience and expression. Artists featured include the late Shane Pickett, Arron Yarron of MaOchre Gallery, Sharona Wilson, Samuel Edgar, Nicole Dickerson, Aaron Nannup, Krista Davies and Carol Martin OAM, whose works explore themes of Country, identity, and community.
The celebration event will be held on Sunday 24th August at Birli Gallery from 2pm and will include live didgeridoo, artist talks, and an opportunity to meet the creatives behind the works. Attendees can also enjoy light refreshments with a final chance to purchase select pieces from the exhibition.
