Join us at the historic Sorg Opera House for a pay-what-you-can screening of Reefer Madness—a hilarious night of vintage propaganda, over-the-top drama, and unforgettable moments, all for a great cause. Originally released in 1936 as a cautionary tale, Reefer Madness was intended to warn audiences about the supposed dangers of marijuana. Instead, its melodramatic plot, wild overreactions, and unintentional humor earned it a place in film history as a beloved cult favorite. The story follows a group of high school students whose lives spiral into chaos after trying marijuana just once—leading to crime, madness, and moral collapse!

Rediscovered in the 1970s by cannabis advocates and midnight movie fans, Reefer Madness has become a tongue-in-cheek symbol of sensationalism gone haywire. Come see it with fresh eyes, and help preserve a piece of Middletown history in the process!
