Join us for a special dinner fundraiser organized by Voices of Understanding, a nonprofit organization founded by Alex Kalish (Jewish-American), and Kenan Khatib (Palestinian-American). The two friends who attend MIHS founded VOU after witnessing the rising dehumanization of the "other" and the lack of open dialogue around Israel and Palestine.
Voices of Understanding is a nonprofit dedicated to fostering respectful, confidential conversations among high school students with differing perspectives on Israel, Palestine, and the Middle East. Whether you believe in dialogue or want to support humanitarian relief, your presence makes a difference!
What to Expect:
-Free Israeli & Palestinian cuisine (celebrating shared flavors!)
-Complimentary drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic)
-Stories from students whose perspectives shifted through dialogue
-Mingling with other Mercer Island Families
Goal: Raise $10,000 to expand our programs and provide direct aid
