Join us for the First Annual Common Ground Conference on Tuesday, July 29th. Connect with local leaders, explore real-life challenges through interactive role-play, and learn how to take meaningful action against poverty in Memphis.

9:00 AM — 11:30 AM The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE)

COPE is an immersive simulation designed to offer a glimpse into the difficult choices and emotional stress that millions experience every day.

Step into the shoes of a low-income individual through interactive role-playing scenarios and navigate real-life challenges, including housing, healthcare, transportation, and employment. Gain insight into the systemic barriers that keep people in poverty, then reflect on your experience with other attendees.

11:30 AM — 12:30 PM Catered Lunch & Guided Debrief Session

12:30 PM — 2:00 PM Community Connections Workshop

Connect with local nonprofits and discover practical ways to get involved through volunteering and advocacy. Hear directly from community partners about the impactful initiatives happening in our area—and how you can be part of the change. Move beyond awareness to take meaningful action that strengthens our community.

Attendee Cost: $55 per person (before July 1st - cost increases to $75 after)

Certificates of Participation available upon request.
