Do you want to loosen up and create a more expressive painting? This workshop will present you with strategies for moving away from realism when painting the landscape. We will explore these elements of art in relationship to abstraction: Color/Tonality, Texture/Pattern and Shape/Gesture.


Emphasizing one of these elements can take you away from strictly copying reality and enable you to create a more evocative interpretation of the landscape.


Demos will be in pastel, but other media are welcome.
