Movie: Fresh Kills (2024)

Veteran actress Jennifer Esposito (Spin City, NCIS, Blue Bloods) spent fifteen years trying to get Fresh Kills made. Eventually she would mortgage her home to finance her writing, producing, and directorial debut feature. Debuting in 2023 at the Tribeca Film Festival before seeing a limited cinema run in the US this film is a must see.

It is a searing look at the New Jersey mafia through the lense of the women in and around the chaos and violence. Esposito displays a deft hand behind the camera and elicits nuanced performances from her two young stars.
