CenterStage North will hold open auditions for our fall production of Lend Me a Soprano on Monday, August 4 and Tuesday, August 5 at 7:00pm. Auditions will be held at Artisans Resource Center - Studio O, 585 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta GA (Inside the building). Please bring a headshot and resume, if you have them.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Synopsis:
It's 1934, and the clever and combustible Lucille Wiley, Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is ready to welcome world-class soprano Elena Firenzi for her one-night-only starring role in Carmen. Alas, Elena arrives late, her impassioned husband Pasquale has a fit of jealousy, and it remains to be seen whether Mrs. Wiley’s mousy but determined assistant Jo can save the day.
Prepare to be captivated as the traditional roles are delightfully reversed in this uproarious screwball comedy, inspired by Ludwig’s Tony Award-winning masterpiece Lend Me A Tenor. In a vibrant twist that showcases the formidable talents of women, this production promises to whisk you away into a whirlwind of hilarity and heartwarming moments, leaving you teary-eyed with laughter and joy.

Mrs. Wylie (50-70): The high-strung general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company
Jo* (20-35): A mousy assistant with hidden operatic talent
Jerry Wylie (20-35): Mrs. Wylie’s passionate son
Elena Firenzi* (30-50, Italian Accent): A glamorous, temperamental opera diva
Pasquale (30-50, Italian Accent): Elena’s fiery Italian husband
Leo (30-55, Dutch Accent): A Dutch tenor with an eye for the ladies
Julia (50-70): Mrs. Wylie’s dramatic friend and chair of the Opera Guild
Bellhop (20-40): A spirited hotel employee who loves opera
*Elena and Jo must sing in an operatic style.
