About the event

Open House
The Friends of the Boy in Blue Civil War Memorial celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the 2015 Dedication of Memorial and the 160th Anniversary of the End of the American Civil War in 1865 with an open house on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 5 pm – 7 pm at historic Lincoln Park.

In honor of this important milestone, Najwa Massad, Mayor of the City of Mankato, has issued a Proclamation recognizing May 30, 2025 as “Boy in Blue Memorial Day Marking the 160th Anniversary of the End of the American Civil War in 1865.“

The open house is a FREE outdoor social gathering. All are welcome. Cake and lemonade will be served. There will be no program. Rain moves the event to the Morson-Ario-Strand VFW, 1900 No. Riverfront Dr. in Mankato.
