Full Circle returns to Joshua Brooks basement with two producers who defined the underground when deep house actually meant something. Before G-house, before the mainstream, when basement clubs dictated the culture.
Huxley brings the sound that made "Let It Go" an underground anthem in 2012 – that three-note bass synth, those garage-influenced hats, the sophistication that had Resident Advisor calling it house record of the year. His Hypercolour and Tsuba releases defined UK deep house: "Callin'" with Roger Sanchez, "No Matter What" remixed by MK, the "Inkwell" EP on Aus Music. This is the producer who understood that seven-minute journeys beat three-minute drops every time.
Amine Edge's deep house credentials run deeper than most realize. Before pioneering G-house, tracks like "What Is House" and support from Solomun and Laurent Garnier proved he understood the fundamentals – raw analogue warmth, hypnotic grooves, that 120-125 BPM pocket where everything locks in.
The Basement's Void Acoustics system was built for this. Think Sankeys at its peak, Warehouse Project under Piccadilly, Soup Kitchen's sweatbox sessions. When Dennis Ferrer's "Hey Hey" could play for eight minutes and nobody checked their phone. When Nick Curly's "Underground" remix was currency. When Maya Jane Coles' "What They Say" topped underground charts while staying off radio.
This is for everyone who knows Hot Natured's "ISIS" hits different than "Benediction", who remembers when Innervisions and Life and Death were the only labels that mattered, who understands why Detroit Swindle signed to Tsuba. DJ Murr holds down support with selections from the era when Development Music and Tribal Sessions set Manchester's standard.
