It's finally the day of launching my first ever business event, in collaboration with Sugar and Spice at Fargo Village for a Bento cake class workshop for South Asian individuals to connect, inspire and empower.
My name is Priyanka Patel and I am the founder of The Empowered Desi and also work as a journalist for CoventryLive. Growing up, I didn't have many South Asian friends I could relate to and share my problems with, and felt isolated and left out because I didn't have people who could relate to the community I am in. Hence, The Empowered Desi was born!
I wanted to create a space where people from South Asian communites and backgrounds could get together through events and have the chance to network and socialise with like-minded individuals. It doesn't matter what religion or background you are from, we are all human at the end of the day and I want to promote positivity and empowerment through my events.
The first event will be held on Saturday, September 20 from 6pm to 9pm at Fargo Village with Sugar and Spice. You will get to learn to create artistic bento cakes while making friends and learning a new skill. The event will include a welcome drink, snacks, as well as a free goodie bag to take home and your decorative cakes!
