For the first 90-120 minutes, local choral conductor Emily Volland will lead participants in learning “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish and “Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley. Both songs are inspired by the “Taking Flight” theme for the global choir project.
Once "Three Little Birds" is learned, we will record it and send it off to be compiled for the group song. Then we will learn "Birds of A Feather," and the show will begin! Each site in the world (Canada, Germany, Ghana, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Turkiye, the U.K., and the U.S.) will perform their song via live-stream. We will hangout (with snacks!) and watch the other countries perform. Then we will sing "Birds of a Feather" close to the end. To close the live-stream, we will watch the recorded compilation of all the choirs singing "Three Little Birds." Each performance will be broadcast to screens in the other participating venues, plus those tuning in online.
