ABOUT LEAH:
Leah Rise is a mother of four adopted children, a storyteller at heart, and a proud graduate of Florida State University, where she earned her degree in 2007. An American by birth, Leah considers herself an honorary Australian after living Down Under twice during her adult life, which sparked her love for travel and adventure. Her journey as a mother and foster parent deeply shaped her worldview and passion for children’s well-being, leading her to become a foster mom for over a decade.
While Leah's career initially took her into the world of science and education, where she owned and operated a Children's STEM program, life had other plans. The pandemic caused the closure of her beloved STEM program, but it also brought an unexpected blessing: the opportunity to spend more time with her children. This period of reflection and bonding reignited her passion for storytelling, particularly writing children's books.
Her debut novel, inspired by her youngest son Maverick, is just the beginning of her journey as a children’s author. As a mom, Leah is constantly surrounded by the energy, imagination, and wonder of her children, and she draws from these experiences to craft stories that inspire, comfort, and teach valuable life lessons. Her books reflect her desire to help children overcome their fears, embrace their uniqueness, and celebrate their strengths—just as she encourages her own kids to do every day.
Leah believes in the power of imagination, the importance of nurturing creativity in children, and the impact that stories can have on a young person’s development. Through her writing, she hopes to leave a legacy of love, resilience, and courage.
