As singer and keyboardist for The Earthlings, Noah Gilfillan has been creating smiles through music in Madison for 14 years. In 2023, he acquired a pump organ from the 1860's at an estate sale and began busking at farmers markets. Performing a variety of originals and covers, Noah's solo acoustic sets draw on the inspiration of this historical instrument and the rich sound it produces.
The songs of Bear In The Forest (BITF) howl with spiritualism. They are built around folk music in the oldest, barest sense: joy and pain and a guitar coming together to produce sounds that resonate with ancestral memory. The BITF project is a slow burn. Bear, a.k.a. Alberto Kanost, has been writing and preforming songs under this moniker for more than a decade, beginning when he was 15. He has had multiple iterations of bands and worked with two different producers to release two projects and a handful of singles. His collaborators and producers come and go, but it seems to always come back to just Bear and his guitar.
M. Shays is an indie-pop project based in Madison, Wisconsin, fronted by the captivating Meggie Shays. After trading architecture for music, Shays creates a delightful combination of lush vocals, intricate chord structures, and vulnerable storytelling. Listeners will hear hints of Fiona Apple, Bjork, Imogen Heap, Regina Spektor, AURORA, Caroline Polachek, etc
