Pastel Plein Air Painting w/ Marie Marfia

Join artist Marie Marfia for a unique outdoor painting experience at her property on Wednesday, July 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant world of soft pastels and create a beautiful painting inspired by nature.

During this workshop, you'll learn how to capture the beauty of your surroundings using soft pastels. Soft pastels are a dry art medium, essentially pure pigment held together with a minimal amount of binder. This allows for incredibly rich, vibrant colors and a unique tactile experience. They're known for their ability to blend smoothly. You'll have the chance to paint directly from life, choosing subjects such as trees, plants, flowers, or architecture found on Marie's property. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting, this workshop is open to all skill levels and provides a supportive environment to learn and grow.

The workshop fee is $40 for LACA members and $50 for non-members, and all supplies are included! Don't miss this chance to learn from an artist with a true passion for pastels.

About the Artist
Marie Marfia is an accomplished artist celebrated for her captivating works, including skeletons, portraits, and landscapes. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kendall College of Art & Design and a background in graphic design, Marie brings a wealth of artistic knowledge to her teaching.
