ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Girl Scouts has been in Southern California for over 100 years, and the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Heritage Committee has an incredible archive documenting that history. Join Patti Brundige, Christina Rice, and members of Troop 1611 to learn all about the history of Girl Scouts, the Heritage Committee Collection, and some time honored Girl Scout traditions.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Patti Brundige began her Girl Scout career in Altadena in the 2nd grade and bridged into Junior Girl Scouts at Altadena's Camp Mariposa, a program center still standing and active with Girl Scout activities. Her Girl Scout youth years ended in 9th grade when she earned the First Class Award, now known as the Gold Award. As an adult, Patti has served as a Troop Leader for both her daughters, as Manager for Crescenta Valley Glendale Service Unit, and is currently the Chair of the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Heritage Committee.
Christina Rice served two years as a Brownie and renewed her commitment to the organization as an adult by becoming a Troop Leader, which she has now been doing for 10 years and counting. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Heritage Committee. A librarian for the Los Angeles Public Library, Rice helped create a Girl Scouts Library Patch and has successfully planned numerous Girl Scouts Days at Central Library. Her daughter Gable usually sells over 2,000 boxes of cookies every season and recently earned her Silver Award.
