Aquarium of the Pacific (Long Beach, CA)
Submerge yourself in the Aquarium of the Pacific after hours, when darkness descends and the ocean's most wondrous creatures begin their nocturnal activities. Drift through a colorful array of oceanic habitats as ethereal evening illumination bathes iridescent sea jellies, adorable Magellanic penguins, playful seals and many other fascinating species. Touch one of the fierce predators swimming in the Shark Lagoon and discover new worlds in the Ocean Science Center. The new Pacific Visions building sends you to underwater realms with state-of-the-art immersive theater, multimedia displays and live animal exhibits. There's even an eight-minute film that encompasses all your senses with a massive, 180-degree curved screen, floor projection, seat rumblers, simulated wind, fog and scents. The entire aquarium will be open during this special after-hours entry time except for Lorikeet Forest, letting you experience the undersea realms of Long Beach and beyond in a whole new light.
