Longview’s Juneteenth celebration is back and bigger than ever, with a full month of events honoring freedom, culture, and community. While the City of Longview is proud to support several anchor events, this year’s calendar is driven by grassroots organizations, churches, civic groups, and residents working together to mark the occasion in meaningful ways.
The City of Longview will host several major events on Saturday, June 14:
The annual Juneteenth Parade at 10 a.m., traveling along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from Pittman Street to Broughton Recreation Center.
A lively Festival in the Park at Broughton Park from Noon – 7 p.m., featuring food, music, children’s activities, scholarship presentations, and historical information sessions.
A Business Expo co-hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Zeta Omega Chapter, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Broughton Recreation Center.
On Thursday, June 19, the Juneteenth Committee will present Juneteenth in the Park at Teague Park from Noon – 8 p.m., a family-friendly celebration of food, fellowship, and culture.
In addition to the city-sponsored activities, dozens of community-led events are scheduled throughout June. These include talent showcases, theatrical performances, sports tournaments, comedy shows, pageants, worship gatherings, and more - each reflecting the creativity, diversity, and dedication of Longview residents.
These events are independently planned, and a full calendar of Juneteenth events - including contact information for each - is available at LongviewTexas.gov/Juneteenth.
