LIBERICA UNFOLDING: A Tasting Experience from Vietnam to London

We’re proud to introduce a Vietnamese Liberica (Excelsa) like no other: grown at 1,100 meters above sea level in Đức Trọng, Lâm Đồng, carefully processed by Nature Gift Coffee using carbonic maceration (20 days fermentation), and roasted here in London for this special event.

This isn’t your usual Liberica — in fact, this is Excelsa, a lesser-known member of the Liberica family. Often misunderstood or overlooked, Excelsa is now finding new expression through innovative processing and thoughtful roasting.

Brewed Perspectives: We’ve invited 2–3 guest brewers to interpret this coffee in their own way. Each will take a 30–45 minute session to brew and serve the coffee with their chosen method — whether pour-over, immersion, espresso, or something personal.

It’s an opportunity to taste the same coffee unfold in multiple forms — shaped by hand, tools, and intent.

Shared Reflections: This is not a cupping, nor a competition — just a space to explore, learn, and exchange. We welcome thoughts, impressions, and even stories from anyone who’s worked with Liberica or Excelsa before.

Signature Finish: We’ll close the tasting with a signature drink, crafted especially for this lot — a creative cup that expresses the fruit, clarity, and gentle body of this rare coffee.

Exclusive Pre-Order Release: At the end of the event, we’ll open a very limited pre-order for this Liberica (Excelsa).

Only 30 bags (200g each) will be roasted and released.

Why is there a £1 ticket fee?

While this event is essentially free, we’ve added a small £1 “peppercorn” ticket to help cover a portion of our team’s effort in organising and hosting. More importantly, it helps ensure that those who book genuinely intend to attend. Your support allows us to create a more thoughtful and engaging experience for everyone.
