“Matching fiery intensity with exquisite finesse, this was a magnificent set.” – The Scotsman ★★★★★
“Exhilarating, energetic and accomplished.” – Songlines ★★★★
Two decades after winning the Danny Kyle Open Stage Award at Celtic Connections, Breabach remain at the forefront of Scotland’s vibrant contemporary folk scene. Deeply rooted in Highland and Island Gaelic tradition, they fuse double bagpipes, fiddle, step dance, and soaring vocals with the driving energy of guitar and double bass, creating a sound that is both timeless and innovative.
This special anniversary year sees Breabach revisiting some of their favourite venues and festivals across the UK, Europe, and beyond, celebrating the evolution of their music and their deep connections to traditional and global influences. Over the years, they’ve built lasting collaborations with Le Vent du Nord (Quebec), indigenous Australasian artists Moana & the Tribe and The Black Arm Band, Cape Breton powerhouse Beòlach, BAFTA-winning animator Cat Bruce, and even video game composer Big Giant Circles.
Never content to stand still, Breabach’s latest project pairs them with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, pushing the boundaries of traditional Scottish music and reaffirming their place as one of the most innovative and dynamic folk groups of the past two decades.
