Kompozicije so v večini improvizirane in pogosto prežete z eksperimentalnim pridihom.

English:
The concert cycle Utripnik is dedicated to exploring the acoustic properties and sonic potential of handmade acoustic instruments created by Januš Aleš Luznar. The project acts as a dynamic platform that playfully blurs the boundaries between traditional, acoustic, experimental, and electronic music. During performances, the author uses his self-crafted instruments, whose tunings often transcend their cultural origins. Their sonic dimensions are further enriched with electronic effects, multi layered singing, and looping, allowing him to create complex, multi-layered sound compositions in real time.
In the introductory part of the concert, he will briefly present the instruments, their history, and personal inspirations. After the performance, attendees will have the opportunity to try the instruments themselves.
At the third part of the cycle, the featured instruments will include the East African harps, and reinterpretations of lyres.
In many cultures, traditional music—as performed by European bards, West African griots, or the poetic-musical artists of ancient Rome, served to tell stories, preserve history, and shape collective memory. Januš’s goal, however, is to create a space where time loses its linear structure, and sound becomes a landscape that gently guides the listener into a dreamlike, almost meditative experience.
The compositions are largely improvised and often infused with an experimental edge. Musical elements may feel psychedelic and transcendent, perhaps even healing, not in a therapeutic sense, but as a sonic experience that releases tension, opens inner space, and speaks to the subconscious.
Though the author does not narrate historical tales like a bard, griot, or Roman poet, he perceives his music as a gift, a personal offering through which he shares the deepest universal emotions. Using a fictional, invented language, he seeks to express feelings that transcend words, space, and time.
About the Author:
Januš Aleš Luznar has been active in various artistic fields for over 25 years. He primarily works at the intersection of music, audiovisual art, and intermedia practices. His work encompasses project production, music composition, sound design, original audiovisual creations, physical performances and crafting handmade music instruments.
In recent years, after more than two decades of producing, releasing, and performing electronic music, he began building his own instruments, which he interprets into ambient electroacoustic soundscapes during live performances.
The diversity of his musical genres has led to collaborations with numerous independent and avant-garde labels in Slovenia and worldwide. Beyond music releases and performances, his work extends to storytelling through sound, as he also designs sonic landscapes for theater, film, and radio.
