Nature Journal Club - June - Basic Botany

Join us as we dive into the world of nature journaling with this in-person, facilitated session. This month we will highlight information on botany and plants. Learn about plant identification, anatomy, and gardening tips. Specimens from the JSNM herbarium and the Benedictine University Arboretum will be highlighted. Find out how to create your own herbarium!

Following the presentation, participants can rotate through various nature journaling prompts. Weather permitting, we will include a nature walk to examine plants on our campus nature trail.

Through this club, we will spend dedicated time exploring, observing, and recording the natural world. We will highlight the basics of keeping a nature journal, different methods of organizing one, features and elements of a nature journal, and much more.

Please bring a blank notebook, pen/pencil, and a ruler. This program is intended for adults, but older kids/teens are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

No experience necessary, you just have to be willing to give it a try! All programs are listed under the events on the EEAI NE Region Facebook group.
