The Unveiling of Towards Freedom
Lexington's Freedom Train Committee invites you to join The Unveiling of Towards Freedom!

Towards Freedom is the centerpiece and first phase of a monument dedicated to Lewis and Harriet Hayden, two of Lexington's enslaved who became famed abolitionists. This monument also remembers the stories of other enslaved persons in Lexington and commemorates their paths to freedom via Lexington's Underground Railroad.

The Lexington Freedom Train thanks the Kentucky Historical Society, LexArts, and the Lexington Public Arts Commission for securing funding for this project.
