Stream Study with Terri McFarland

For the stream study program, we'll meet at the library and talk about stream habitat, different aspects of a stream ecosystem, and different species that may live in local streams. We'll also talk about water quality and how it effects the species inhabiting a stream. Then we'll head over to the actual stream and see what types of species we find and whether they are indicative of clean water or water with impurities.

Parents/guardians are expected to transport their children to the stream from the library.

This program has an outdoor water component, so please dress accordingly and wear non-slip shoes/boots that can get wet.

Program expected to last 2 ½ - 3 hours.

Program is open to children of all ages (preschool through teens). Parents/guardians will need to transport and accompany their children. No registration is required.
