Iron Ore Studio’s Open Networking Days are co-hosted by Nikki Lister and Rusty George. Together, Nikki and Rusty bring a unique blend of warmth, expertise, and community spirit to these monthly gatherings, turning the studio into a vibrant, welcoming space where artists can connect, collaborate, and grow.
Held from 11 AM to 5 PM, Iron Ore’s Networking Days offer photographers, models, makeup artists, and other creatives a full day of creative exploration. For photographers, it’s an affordable $40 entrance fee to shoot (free for members), and for models, entry is just $20 for the day. Want to keep the creativity flowing? You can add an extra hour from 5–6 PM for just $25 more—perfect for squeezing in one last set or taking advantage of that beautiful evening light pouring into the studio.
Rusty’s presence adds an extra layer of energy and insight to these events. Known for his dedication and creative spirit, he’s always ready to jump in, offer advice, or help new attendees get comfortable. Together, Rusty and Nikki create an atmosphere that is equal parts relaxed and focused on growth, ensuring everyone feels welcome.
These networking days are intentionally set up as trade-only events, where attendees work together on creative projects rather than on client bookings. This encourages genuine collaboration and experimentation without the pressures of paid work, allowing attendees to try out new ideas in a supportive environment. There’s often a makeup artist on hand, available for models who want to take their looks up a notch, further enhancing the experience.
Rusty and Nikki’s approach is open and inviting—no need to RSVP or stick to a list. Attendees are encouraged to bring along fellow creatives or invite anyone they think would benefit from the day. Their goal is to foster a culture of respect, innovation, and community at Iron Ore, ensuring that all participants feel like they’re part of something bigger.
Through these monthly events, Nikki and Rusty have cultivated a close-knit community that values creativity, connection, and mutual support. Iron Ore’s Networking Days are about more than building portfolios; they’re about building relationships and creating a sense of belonging within a diverse artistic community. Together, Nikki and Rusty make every event memorable, offering a space where attendees feel free to create, learn, and be inspired.
