This course, led by a dynamic team from Estes Valley Fire and When Things Go Bad, Inc., goes beyond standard ladder operations to explore advanced and unconventional techniques.
Instructors:
Paul Capo: A 25+ year fire service veteran, Chief of Estes Valley Fire, and Founder of When Things Go Bad, Inc. Paul holds a B.A.S. in Public Safety Administration, a Masters in Biblical & Theological Studies, and is known for his engaging instruction (seen in Fire Engineering's Training Minutes and the When Things Go Bad video series).
Jason Dillingham: Operations and Training Chief for Estes Valley Fire, with over 25 years in fire and EMS. Chief Dillingham's leadership is built on trust and expertise. He holds an A.A.S. in Fire Science and is pursuing a B.A.S. in Fire Administration.
Michael Capo: Firefighter/EMT with Estes Valley Fire and Lyons Fire, Michael has been an instructor with When Things Go Bad since 2022, bringing a lifetime of fire service involvement to the team.
Rick Spear: A Captain with Estes Valley Fire since 2005, Captain Spear is a decorated firefighter with numerous awards and commendations. He has been an instructor with When Things Go Bad since 2017.
Course Focus:
Participants will learn to adapt and overcome challenging scenarios that require unconventional ladder techniques. This course emphasizes practical application and innovative problem-solving, pushing beyond traditional ladder operations.
