Little Rebel Library

With the blatant discrimination and devastating legislative actions that marginalized communities have been facing across the country, it is crucial that we elevate the voices of 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals. Thanks to donations from neighbors, friends, and local book sellers that feel the same, LAAN will be once again hosting the Little Rebel Library – a play on “Little Free Library” boxes we see in the community – in our tent at Lansing Pride.

The Little Rebel Library will be giving away books featuring queer and BIPOC stories – especially those that are either banned or being contested in schools across the state of Michigan to help ensure that youth in our community have access to stories that they can see themselves reflected in.

If you would like to donate a book (or several books! we don't judge!) to our efforts, please have them to the LAAN office by Thursday, June 26th. To make a monetary donation towards the purchase of books, click here:

Want to stretch your dollar further? We are excited to be working with one of our favorite local booksellers again! Hooked will be hosting a book drive through the month of June by offering 50% off any books purchased to donate!
