Summer Institute 2025: Grain Painted Mirror and Fraktur Bird

Create a grain painted mirror for your wall with a painted fraktur bird. No experience necessary. All supplies provided. Participants will learn how to grain paint their own frame, and a template will be provided for painting the beautiful song bird. At the end of class, your creation will be framed and ready to hang on the wall. Supplies includes water colors, micron pens, glaze for grain painting, and a prepared frame. The frames are handmade by local Amish woodworker. Bring a friend! Teens through retirement age alike can enjoy this! If you have your own water color or calligraphy pens and would like to use them, feel free to bring them.

The class will be held in the Landis Valley Museum Firehouse. Please check in at the Museum Store. Thursday June 26, 2025 9am-4pm.

All materials included. Please bring a lunch and water bottle. All sales final. No refunds. Proceeds benefit the Museum.
