You are welcome to join us earlier in the day, between 11 AM and 5 PM, to help prep ingredients and cook. It's a great way to meet the host and connect with others before dinner.
KTM Food Connections is a casual gathering that aims to connect the dots about food system in Kathmandu Valley and connect residents over delicious home-cooked food.

Homecooked Dinner:
Sofreh-e-Faramarz: Traditions from Two Lands, One Table
Sofreh is the traditional Persian tablecloth on which food is served. This dinner, Sofreh-e-Faramarz, brings together the taste and tenderness of many places hosted by Faramarz, born in Kabul and raised in Delhi. His Afghan, Iranian, and Indian heritage deeply shape the way he cooks. Inspired by his mother, Zareen, he brings together spices, stories, and memories from three homelands.
This community dinner hosted by Faramarz intends to be more than a meal. It is a gesture of belonging. In a time where borders feel heavier and travel is harder, food becomes a way through.

Dinner Menu
* Tahchin: Saffron-infused rice cake with a golden crust, layered with carrots, pistachios, and raisins
* Borani Banjan: Slow-roasted eggplant in garlicky yogurt
* Jujeh Kebab: Grilled chicken thighs marinated with saffron, yogurt, lemon, and onions
* Khoresht-e-Fesenjan: A deep stew of ground walnuts and pomegranate molasses
* Kadoo-e-Rosti: Roasted squash with Persian spices
Financial Contribution
KTM Food Connections works on a shared-cost model. All participants contribute equally to cover the cost of ingredients and basic supplies. We expect the cost to be between NPR 700 and 1000.
Hosts and organizers volunteer their time to hold space for thoughtful connections and a more just, joyful food culture in Kathmandu.
