World's Largest Swim Lesson!

Who: More than 40,000 children around the globe are participating in the 16th Annual World’s to help beat the single leading cause of death for children
ages 1-4.

What: The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ will take place over the course of 24 hours at hundreds of aquatic centers, swim schools and waterparks on six continents.

Why: The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ was created to send the message Swimming Lessons Save Lives™. Tragically, drowning is the 3rd leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide and THE leading cause of death for kids ages 1-4 in the U.S. Drowning risk peaks during the month of July. Research by the National Institutes of Health shows participation in formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning for kids ages 1-4 by 88%.
