Join us for this Mommy and Me (but far more inclusive) style forest school gathering. Moms, Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, Foster Parents, Guardians, Family Friends... it doesn't matter who, just bring those little Wildlings out. For this program adults will stay on site and participate with their tiny humans. Siblings of tiny humans are more than welcome!
My Tiny Human & Me activities are geared for children four and under however, everyone is welcome. We encourage even the tiniest to come out. Everyone benefits from sunshine and grounding. Nursing mamas come on out, you are encouraged and welcomed. You don't have to be an existing forest school family to participate in this program. There is no need to commit to coming every month. Just show up if you can. Please make sure you mark yourself as going on Facebook so we can prepare for the proper number of families.
We'll gather and start with opening circle just like the bigger Wildings do each morning at forest school. We'll have an opportunity to take a tiny hike and practice sit spotting together. There will be a large pocket of "Choose your own adventure" style play where the littles can explore basecamp. Hammocks, yoga swings, slack lines, the mud pie kitchens, the rope swing, the sandbox, the hammering logs, the stick fort, mulch mountain, log land, the pollinator pocket patch, the forest school poteger, the boat swing... it's up to those little Wildlings to lead the way.
While some children will choose to play others will choose to hangout in the basecamp kitchen where we'll prepare a little farm to fork homestead snack for our guests. They might find themselves chopping or rolling or mixing. No one is too little to participate. After eating our snack we'll play some more and then gather again in circle singing our special goodbye song.
This program is designed with two goals. Our first purpose is to create a space where children and their adults can escape the rat race and connect with nature but our second purpose is to provide fellowship and an opportunity to create community for our adult participants.
Children should come dressed appropriately for weather. Layers are the answer here. Bring extra layers and prepare to shed them as needed. We are typically windy out here and often cooler than in town. Wear comfortable shoes that can be worn for hiking. Bring boots if we're in mud season. Do not dress your tiny human in anything nice or of value. Clothes have been known to return home destroyed after a good day at forest school. We do not want our tiny humans' activity stunted because we are trying to keep their shoes clean! All participants should bring drinks and snacks. Strollers are welcomed and encouraged.
The cost for this program is $10 per family. This fee helps us to purchase supplies to enrich our program and offer more activities. No need to pre-register anywhere other than marking yourself as "Going" on the Facebook event. No need to pre-pay, just bring $10 along on the day of the event. Money can be placed in the payment drop box under the pavilion. If this would be a financial burden please reach out to me. We don't want a family to miss this opportunity because they are unable to pay at this time.
We can't wait to gather with you all. Miss Erin & Mr. Scott
