Backyard Bash at the Museum

Celebrate Canada Day in classic summer style at our Backyard Bash at the Museum! Join us for a fun-filled day perfect for families, friends, and visitors of all ages.

Enjoy the sweet sounds of summer with a live performance by the Waterloo Concert Band, then dive into an afternoon of hands-on fun and nostalgic activities. Kids will love face painting, crafting their own paper bag beavers, and zipping around on wiggle cars. Try your hand at ice cream churning and sample a taste of the past, or get competitive with relay races and a scavenger hunt throughout the museum grounds.

Feeling playful? Head over to our retro board game station and challenge your crew to a few classic rounds. There’s something for everyone to enjoy at this lively outdoor celebration.
Admission includes access to all activities and exhibits. Bring your picnic blankets, your sunny smiles, and get ready for a backyard-style bash like no other!

The Waterloo Concert Band performance will take place at 2pm.

Ice Cream Churning will take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
