## About

If your group chat has turned into a running debate about where to eat, what to drink, and who’s booking the Uber home, you’re not alone. This weekend in Kitchener, the real action isn’t in big festivals or park hangs – it’s in low-key-but-packed food and drink events that keep selling out before you’ve even finished your first pint.

Right now, the heavyweight on everyone’s radar is **SOLD OUT – Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse (In support of The Food Bank)**. Even the name tells you the story: the tickets are gone, the warehouse vibes are locked in, and the people who planned ahead are about to spend their night swirling glasses and pretending they always donate to charity via good whisky. If you didn’t snag a spot, yes, there’s FOMO, but it’s also a good indicator of what Kitchener crowds want this season: cozy, indoor, grown-up nights with a cause and a solid drink in hand.

If you’re still scrambling for things to do this weekend in Kitchener and don’t want to sit at home scrolling past everyone’s warehouse photos, the better move is to look where the regulars already are: **Counterpoint Brewing Company** and that little pocket around **50 Scheifele Place** and **50 Alpine Court**. These spots aren’t trying to be flashy – they’ve just quietly become the default answer to “where should we meet?” precisely because people keep going back. A **sushi-making class at Counterpoint Brewery** is the one to stalk for openings or future dates: it’s got that perfect balance of doing-something-with-your-hands, day-drinking-without-shame, and not having to commit to a full-blown night out.

The through-line this weekend is simple: smaller, well-loved venues, regulars who actually know the staff, and events built around eating and sipping rather than standing in lines. If you’re trying to plan last-minute, think less “new hotspot” and more “places that have quietly earned everyone’s trust” – the Scheifele/Alpine corridor and Counterpoint Brewing are exactly that right now.

Here’s where the city’s food-and-drink energy is clustering this weekend:

- **SOLD OUT – Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse (In support of The Food Bank)** – Big-night-out energy in a warehouse, strong charity flex, zero remaining tickets. Use it as motivation to book earlier next time.
- **Sushi Making Class at Counterpoint Brewery** – The one you should watch and book the second you see new dates; ideal for friend groups and low-pressure date nights.
- **50 Scheifele Place & 50 Alpine Court area** – Not one-off destinations but reliable hubs; if an event pops up here, odds are it’ll draw a solid, returning crowd.
- **Counterpoint Brewing Company** – The quiet MVP for food-drink events: craft beer, hands-on classes, and a crowd that actually shows up instead of just hitting “Interested” online.
