Come and enjoy the 20th anniversary of the Skeleton Park Arts Festival, a non-profit annual summer solstice celebration, during the June 20 - 22 weekend. This free, family-oriented event takes place in McBurney Park and the surrounding neighbourhood.
This year’s performers include Polaris Prize Winning rapper and former Edmonton poet laureate, Cadence Weapon, Almond Milk, Mimi O'Bonsawin, Zoon, Tiny Horse, Moskitto Bar, Splash N' Boots, Cantabile Youth Choir, Anthea Feaver, Oakridge Ave, Trash Panda Brass Band, to name a few.
Festival headliner, Cadence Weapon will also join Kingston poet laureate, Sadiqa de Meijer for the side stage workshop, Page to Stage: Voicing your Verses (Side Stage 1- Next Church 89 Colborne St) on Saturday June 21, 2pm. The workshop will be moderated by Jermaine Marshal.
The annual Porch Jazz Parade runs from # 154 Ordnance St to #6 Patrick St at 11am on Sun June 22 this year. The renowned Skeleton Park band, Spencer Evan's Goat Steppers will hit the main stage to round out the parade, shortly after 12pm noon, featuring Oscar Evans on trumpet.
Saturday and Sunday’s programming will also feature local food vendors, family activities by Department of Illumination, the Fat Goose Craft Fair, and Community Organization information booths. Local graffiti artist and muralist, Aaron Forsyth, is SPAF2025's featured visual artist.
