We're flying high at Movies in the Square this Thursday with Wicked!!
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande shine bright in this iconic musical fantasy! Elphaba, a young woman ridiculed for her green skin, and Galinda, a popular girl, become friends at Shiz University in the Land of Oz. After an encounter with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads.
Join us in Springer Market Square on Thursday, August 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM for a magical evening of themed pre-movie activities:
- Face Painting with Face It Transformations: transform into one of Wicked’s beloved characters by choosing from two enchanting designs: Elphaba or Glinda.
- Nail Bar with La Bella Beauty Bar: add a magical touch with glow‑in‑the‑dark nail stickers, perfect for a movie night under the stars.
- Potion & Cauldron Craft with Kulab Community: paint and decorate your own paper cauldron, then visit the potion station to mix whimsical, bubbly “witchy” potions using paint, soap, and simple craft materials.
- Interactive Exhibit with the Museum of Health Care: explore the fascinating history of the “snake oil salesman” era. Create your own take‑home blend of safe herbs and spices at the mixing station, then design a vintage‑style advertisement inspired by historical cure‑all remedies.
The movie does not have a specific start time; it begins at dusk when it becomes dark enough for the screen to be visible.
Movies in the Square is totally free, but make sure to bring cash to grab some delicious popcorn, cotton candy and drinks from the concession stand 🍿🥤
