In a time where community is needed more than ever, we are using this event as a platform to gather and share needs and resources. Besides coming together to drum, dance, play and celebrate, it is our intention to create opportunities to barter and trade needed resources and connect and develop connections in our community to bridge gaps and balance deficits in the systems that are failing those in need.
This is an inclusive, family friendly event and all are welcome. We drum, dance and play to celebrate, heal, release and create community connections. Bring your drums, instruments, flow toys, dancing scarves and let your inner child be free! This is a safe and healing space.
There will be instruments for sharing and beginners and first timers are welcome.
This is a free event and love offerings appreciated.
I'm doing something different at our drum circles that will help create more personal connections and access needs & provide resources for our neighbors in need.
Instead of beginning with drumming, we're going to have 1 hour of community connection time and then come together after to drum, dance and celebrate!
There will be a Resource Board where people can post their business cards, resources, services and offerings on sticky notes. There will be another Needs Board where people can post their needs and information. This will be a great way to connect with others in need and to share our skills, strengths and resources!
I'm going to set up a few tables for bartering, trading and free items. Let's gather our resources and share with one another. You can barter and trade for services, resources, or physical items that you bring.
Bring a blanket or table to display your items on.
Here are some suggestions for items to bring:
Things from your garden
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Personal hygiene products
No homemade food: packaged, canned and unopened food only.
First aid supplies
Water
Tools
Batteries
Art supplies
Handmade home goods
Herbal remedies and vitamins
Keep things practical, useful and creative.
Beyond physical goods, bartering for services like haircuts, home repairs, or even specialized skills like massage, therapy, energy work, sound healing, nursing skills or other services and offerings that could benefit others holistically.
I really want this to be a tool that we all can use in preparation of the major changes that will be affecting healthcare and community. Please share this with as many people as you can so that we can fill in the gaps of services that are happening in the vulnerable parts of our community.
