Ankh of the Ancients: A Mystical Beadcraft Workshop
Hosted by Folk Willow | Beginning 9th July 2025 — $65 per person
( Limited places available.)
“To wear the Ankh is to carry life, light, and legacy.”
This July, step within the lamplit circle of the Fortune Teller’s Wagon and create your very own beaded Egyptian Ankh — a talisman of immortality, breath, and sacred power.
You will be guided in crafting a piece inspired by the image shown — not an exact replica, as we work with an evolving palette of handmade glass beads, each one unique. These beads shimmer with memory. No two ankhs will ever be the same… just as no two lives carry the same thread of fate.
🜃 What You’ll Create:
A hand-stitched felt-backed beaded Ankh pendant or altar piece
Lined with intricate rows of glass seed beads in turquoise, gold, deep red, and midnight black
Symbolic placement taught through mystical insight — each bead has purpose
🕯️ What You’ll Receive:
All materials provided (beads, base, thread, needle, spiritual guidance)
A printed Ankh Mysticism Guide — written by Janis & Sam Allen
Tea or coffee served in our vintage style
A certificate of participation
🌟 Why the Ankh?
The Ankh — known as “the key of life” — is one of Egypt’s most enduring sacred symbols. Worn by gods, offered by queens, and painted across the tombs of those who journeyed beyond, it represents breath, eternity, and the divine spark within.
Here at Folk Willow, we’ve long been drawn to the mysticism of ancient Egypt. Janis first wore an ankh as a child in the 1960s — not knowing why, only that it belonged to her.
This connection runs deeper than personal fascination — it is ancestral.
Janis’s paternal grandparents, both born in 1906, were passionate seekers of esoteric knowledge and Egyptian mysticism. In 1950, they made the pilgrimage to the pyramids of Egypt — drawn by the same sense of mystery and wonder that continues through the breathline of their family.
Since then, the symbol has returned through dreams, rituals, and visions — becoming a quiet companion in many of our creations and spirit works.
This workshop is not just a craft.
It is remembrance. Ritual. A channel.
