College of Marin Jazz Ensemble

Come out and enjoy an eclectic evening of traditional and new wild big band jazz music, as the COM Jazz Ensemble performs some engaging mid-century and more recent jazz compositions. The list includes a couple of jazz fusion pieces made popular by Jaco Pastorius, as well as several arrangements by the late Bill Holman. Audiences will enjoy another piece by Gordon Goodwin, and maybe even a new piece by Jacob Mann. The program will include the cool piece Allégresse by Maria Schneider with highly textured orchestrations evoking visual imagery and musical colors. To top it all, our fabulous North Bay Divas will return to perform a wonderful Glenn Miller arrangement, originally performed by the Modernaires!
