Bon Dance in Kailua at Windward Buddhist Temple

It's summer and that means it's Bon Dance season in Hawaii! Join us in Kailua for our annual Bon Dance at Windward Buddhist Temple (Kailua Hongwanji Mission). One night only: Saturday, July 12, 2025.

We will have a Country Market that opens at 5 pm featuring a rummage sale and numerous homemade merchandise items; baked goods such as manju and Okinawan nantu; takuan, bitter melon namasu, and assorted pickled vegetables.

Our Food Concession will open at 6 pm and will have our BBQ Stick and Hot Dog Dinner Plate, chili, saimin, SPAM musubi, and our ono andagi, which will be served hot and fresh while supplies last.

The Bon Dance itself will begin at 7pm and last until approximately 10pm. The Food Concession will be open as long as we have food and drinks to sell (we usually sell out!).

Where: at Windward Buddhist Temple (Kailua Hongwanji Mission) in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii. Our address is 268A Kuulei Road, Kailua. We are located across the street from Kailua Library.
