Life is a flow of energy. We experienced this energy through sensations in the body. Sometimes, due to our lifestyles, conditionings and/or experiences this natural flow of energy is shut down creating energy blocks in the body. These blockages can show up as mental and emotional imbalances, chronic pain and tensions, postural misalignment, and disease. The longer these blockages stay unaddressed the longer we carry them around in our bodies.
The I AM yoga therapy practice uses the innate intelligence of the body, known as prana, to release these experiences, emotions and stresses of life. When these blockages are released it allows the natural flow of energy to be regained. This free flow of energy enables the body to find its way back to optimal health and balance. Through this practice you can essentially heal your mind, body and soul from the inside out.

Having experienced a great personal and spiritual transformation with yoga, Sonya is eager to share her message of hope with others. Sonya has over 800 hours of yoga training, studying various styles and lineages of yoga. She teaches yoga classes, workshops, yoga nidra meditation classes, is the owner of Feel Embodied Yoga School, which leads 200 hr yoga teacher training programs. Along with being a Trauma Informed CYT Sonya is a yoga therapy facilitator, yoga nidra facilitator, level 2 reiki practitioner and a certified life coach. Since starting yoga Sonya has dropped over 70 pounds, weaned off of all prescription medications, let go of harsh self-criticism and has learned to cope with major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety and CPTSD stemming from a history of complex trauma. Having overcome these physical and emotional challenges Sonya wants to help people find their truth and to understand that they are much more than what their minds and others tell them they are. She was voted Best in Jax Yoga Instructor for 2023 by Folio Weekly Magazine. In 2024 she was initiated into the Lineage of Light at the Amrit Yoga Institute by Gurudev, Yogi Amrit Desai, graciously receiving the spiritual name Upasana. When Sonya is not practicing or leading yoga programs she is also the owner of Be Well Green's Company, a small microgreens farm in Jacksonville, and the mother of two amazing children. She is humbly privileged to be able to share these life changing practices with you.
