2025 NJ Tree Farm Day

A great Tree Farm Day program is planned for you at the Forest Resource Education Center (FREC) in Jackson, NJ. The property is situated in the pinelands ecosystem, which we have not seen at Tree Farm Day in several years. The property is also the site of the NJ State Seedling Nursery operation, with fields of seedlings, seed orchards, greenhouses, and a storage facility. In addition, a sawmill and sugar shack are also on site that will be included in our festivities. We will also have programs on different silvicultural systems, tree identification, fire ecology, and more. The Tree Farm terrain is gently sloping and has a good access road & trail system. There could be a little off-trail walking, so be prepared!

We will have our traditional presentation of awards of the Ron Sheay NJ Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year (OTFY) and the George Pierson Forest Steward of the Year during the lunch break; Tree ID contest with prizes for the winner, a prize raffle, 50-50, and the “silent auction”. Come share with us in celebrating the Tree Farm Program in New Jersey and congratulating your peers for their outstanding achievements in forest resource management.

If you have an item to donate to our “silent auction” please bring it with you. We encourage you to mark Friday June 6th, 2025 on your calendar and come out and see some outstanding forest resource management, and support your NJ Tree Farm Program. Plan to spend the entire day with your fellow tree farmers and forest conservationists having fun, learning new things, and meeting old and new friends.

A healthy continental breakfast and brown bag lunch is provided.
