Join Wren Kingsley and me at The Soil Factory on December 11th to sow the seeds of circularity as we kick-off our project to help GrassRoots Grow Greener. Funded by a NYS Pollution Prevention Institute Grant,* over the course of the next year, the project will provide the design needed to collect data in order to facilitate the expansion of reusable dishware at GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance and take the work to deeper green levels in years to come. That means less single-use waste, more community, and more sustainability.
At this Kick-Off Event, you can expect to hear a presentation of the work our team has accomplished so far, the vision for what is next, and our goals for the future. Then, event participants will be invited to share where they would be inspired to bring their creativity and expertise to working group sessions. Our goal for the year long program is to:
📊 Develop a system to capture and analyze data from the dishwashing operation currently in use
📐Draft a design to put all these components together
Build the systems and put it into use at the 2026 GrassRoots Festival
Following the kick-off meeting, these working groups will convene on a monthly basis to continue the process designing and implementing our plan to grow circularity in our food system. Come for an evening of community, collaboration, and on-the-ground thinking.
