CALLING ALL EDUCATORS! PRI's annual Teacher Resource Day on Saturday, October 11th, from 9 am to 12:30 pm, at the Museum of the Earth has tables full of free fossil and geological specimens and other educational materials for teachers to use in their classrooms. The event is free and exclusively for teachers.
In addition to the resource giveaway, there are tours of PRI's extensive collections, the Museum of the Earth, our current temporary (and beautiful) Marvelous Mollusks exhibit as well as our newly installed Eurypterid exhibit and the also beautiful Blaschkas Glass Invertebrates.
This year our giveaway will include a HUGE number of shells, both ancient and modern. We are reducing our total amount of storage space which means this year's giveaway is likely to be the biggest ever!
This year's featured presentation will be given by Dr. Brendan Anderson, Visting Professor at the State University of New York College at Oneonta. Dr. Anderson was part of the design team for the Marvelous Mollusks exhibit.
We'll also hear about the Autumn BioBlitz in a short presentation. This BioBlitz begins on Friday, October 10th and runs through Monday, October 13th, intentionally surrounding Teacher Resource Day.
The first 50 registrants receive a gift bag! If registration exceeds 50, we will maintain a waiting list. If you register and find yourself unable to attend, please let us know.
