Midday Music in Lincoln: Bach, Balch, and Brahms

Cello-piano duo Annie Hyung and Ariel Mo perform Bach’s Gamba Sonata No. 3 in G Minor, BWV 1029, Katherine Balch Prelude, and Brahms E Minor Cello Sonata, Op. 38. Balch's Prelude was composed to proceed attacca into the Brahms, providing a shocking antithesis that asks us to listen anew to Brahms as subjects rooted in the 21st century, rather than imagining ourselves in the 19th. On harpsichord, piano, and two celli.
