Faces & Places Reading Group: "William Mulholland"

Join us for our reading group, “Faces & Places” where we will discuss interesting lives and locations. This month we will be discussing William Mulholland. William Mulholland was a self-taught civil engineer primarily responsible for designing and constructing the Los Angeles Aqueduct, which brought water from the Owens Valley to Los Angeles in 1913. This monumental engineering feat enabled Los Angeles to grow from a small town into a major metropolis. However, his career ended in tragedy with the catastrophic collapse of the St. Francis Dam in 1928, for which he took full responsibility.

You are welcome to read any book on the subject, watch a DVD, or research any viable source. All are welcome. Zoom option available.
